Kendrick Lamar will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on February 9, 2025, at The Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL made the announcement today. Lamar, known for his deep love of hip-hop, aims to make a strong impact. “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one,” said Lamar.
Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter praised Lamar, calling him “a once-in-a-generation artist and performer” whose “deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision.” Apple’s Vice President, Oliver Schusser, shared his excitement, saying, “Apple is thrilled to bring this show, starring the absolutely incomparable Kendrick Lamar, to fans worldwide.” NFL’s Head of Music, Seth Dudowsky, added, “Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar.”
Lamar, a Multi-Platinum, Grammy and Emmy award-winning artist, and co-founder of pgLang, has consistently pushed boundaries since his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city. His 2017 album, DAMN., made him the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize. His latest album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, released in 2022, continues to showcase his unique talent. Creative Direction for Lamar’s halftime performance will be provided by pgLang, ensuring a memorable experience.
